The moment I heard Dick Butkus died, I felt the Bears were going to win. We are in a rebuild. Shame on all of us for thinking that we were going to go from 3-13 to 10-7. It was never going to happen. Both the offense and the defense are full of players who are essentially brand new to the scheme. I am still behind Eberflus. He is an "attention to detail" guy and if you look at the best coaches they are all attention to detail people.
I am not on board with drafting Caleb Williams if we get that pick. That trade would be the mother load in return which we use to continue the rebuild. We DO NOT start over!
I thought Richard Sherman summed it up best when he said "the heavily underdog Chicago Bears came in here beat up and went on to lose more defensive backs, more linemen and all of their running backs and still fought like hell and won the game. It was flat out impressive." That doesn't happen to shitty coaches.
I am fine with your backing of Eberflus, I am not fine with you acting as if you have any sort of evidence to suggest he is more of an "attention to detail" guy compared to other coaches.
I will vouch for Kmet to be SGCTC certified until I die. Guy checks all the boxes. We knew the year was going to be an emotional roller coaster and it is playing out. Would love to be 2-3, but now we have some work to do if we want to compete this year. Question of the day: If Fields looks like this the rest of the year and we end up with the Panthers #1, do we trade for the biggest package in NFL history and ride with Fields?
Only thing that gives me pause about this, is that the nature of GMs/coaches is to save their own asses. And if we have another brutal record, Poles/Eberflus will be able to say that Fields was never their guy, they inherited him, and they need a shot with Caleb as their guy.
So true. But I don't think we would pass on both of Arizona's 2024 1st's, 2025 1st, a couple 2nd's, and a current player. Having 3 1st's in this loaded 2024 class would change the franchise overnight.
If he continues playing like this, consistently, meaning the next 12 games are FAR more like the last two than the first three, I am with you. If there's more shakiness throughout, I would explore keeping that pick and drafting Williams.
Ideally, obviously, you want the haul and not the rookie QB. I think some people don't understand that's ideal, though.
I dont want to hear about the tank for picks. Let the Panthers do that for us.
I saw what I saw! Against a team that just took the Eagles to OT! Now we Go!
Vikings, Raiders... Winnable games.

In for a Penny, In for a Pound!

We are so back!
And it feels so good!

Chuck you are generally right but once they traded last years Number 1 they essentially made Justin their guy.
Correct, but it also could be that Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, etc. weren't their guys either. May have just preferred this upcoming draft class.

I do. Attention to detail guys always reference it. They can't help it. Saban says it all of the time. Bellicek and Shanahan do as well.
