Yesterday was quite a day for Chicago. Joe Maddon is finally gone and I believe it’s a move they should’ve made last year considering they had no intentions of bringing him back. It sure looks like Ross is going to be the next manager and I personally think that move makes a ton of sense, even though he has no prior coaching experience.
As far as the Bears QB situation, I really don’t know what to feel. Clearly it looks like Daniels can read a defense and accurately throw most of the time in the pocket. However, now that teams can prepare for him I am worried they will find ways to make him uncomfortable in the pocket because he is about as mobile as Joe Flacco. Nonetheless, this team might only need 1 TD per week from the offense to win games. #beardown
I haven’t listened this morning at all but it almost feels like the deal is a done a deal already. He made a comment about the Cubs job on air last night.
His tweet regarding Maddon leaving was also over-the-top diplomatic. Vegas has him as the favorite. Just don't know what hiring him does for us, unless the front office just wants a puppet who will get along with the players like Aaron Boone.
First time posting on the thread! Joe Maddon is good guy and all, but it's going to be nice not having a senile old man running the show! David Ross could be a really good fit and has been known to hold guys accountable when they aren't performing- something this cubs team has been lacking the last couple years.
Trubisky's injury has revived this team! All aboard the Chase train! choo choo!
Robby Chop Man, great to have you. You think Ross will be holding guys accountable? I'm not sure, considering he's buddies with like half the team. From my prior experience of trying to hold friends accountable when in a position of power, I know that sometimes guys can turn into a group of clowns.
It’s definitely a potential concern. My buddies over at espn 1000 had Jesse on and he mentioned that during Ross’s time on the cubs he was always able to flip a switch and get on a guys ass when they were slacking. I was skeptical but im officially in on rossy. Derosa is also intriguing. Out on loretta and girardi
In regards to Joe Maddon, I never disliked the man but I really disliked the manager. Throughout the World Series run I found myself saying "What in the hell is he doing" far too many times. Sitting in the stands in Cleveland for Game 7, he became(as a manager) my arch-enemy!
Really interesting to see how Nagy, for whatever reason, completely opens his playbook for Chase Daniel. Is his playbook too confusing and Daniel has more years of experience OR is Trubisky just not that bright(I believe the author of this newsletter has wondered aloud)?
Seemed like a pretty desperate move by Joe to open up a restaurant with his name on it right outside of Wrigley in a year where it was widely believed he wouldn't be back. That being said, I will remember the good times and the excitement that came with hiring him.
As for QB, I'm not worried. We could put Jacob Werner out there and I would still feel confident about our defense leading us over anyone. Will be interesting to see who they bring in to backup Chase if Mitch's injury is serious. I'm hearing rumors of either Tim Tebow, Tony Romo, or Kaepernick.
According to pat Corrigan, he has more confidence in Jack Carrico reading a defense rather than Mitch Trubisky based on what jack is able to do in madden 20.
At least we aren’t paying Kirk cousins 28 million a year to complete 10 passes a game. Even though Mitch is my arch nemesis, I’m hoping for a good diagnosis and a speedy recovery
I agree that David Ross should absolutely not be the next Cubs manager. I think joe Girardi would be a decent fit.
This Bears defense fucks. Was great to see the polish hammer prove everyone wrong by playing a great game. (Meatball take coming) My favorite play was him not even going for Cousins, instead just absolutely blowing up dalvin cook in the backfield. As for our QB situation, I’m real nervous heading into next week. The thought of getting a game from Chase similar to last years abysmal Giants performance is worrisome at best. Overall, great win.
As good as Daniel looked in the first half, he did next to nothing in the second half. I would still rather have Mitch starting as of now but am intrigued to see Daniel play another game next week. Great win overall, Bear Down.
Maddon - dont care about that bum, i'd rather have big Ricky Renteria at least he can manage a bullpen
The fan base definitely needs to slow their roll on Daniel. He's a career back up for a reason. Would probably be out of the league if he wasn't such a good guy to have on the sidelines.

I agree re: The Maddon note. Seems like a waste of a year all around. Sort of like the Bulls running back Rose and Butler in 2015-2016.
Sports Radio is strongly hinting that its David Ross' job if he wants it. Don't know what I think about that.

Your work here is done.

I agree with most of this but when we face much tougher teams in the latter half of the schedule, you're going to need some output from the QB.

Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the anthem in SOLDIER FIELD is a non-starter!

Total youth football move. Just hit the guy in front of you and see what happens.
