The one common theme in the hilarious drama that is the Chicago Bulls is Jerry Reinsdorf. He is a typical awful leader. Someone who tells everyone he deals with exactly what they want to hear. He tells Krause he has his back and the decisions are his and then he flies to Montana and negotiates a deal directly with Jackson. If Reinsdorf disagreed with any of Krause's decisions, he would have overruled him. He didn't but he loves to sit there and pretend he had nothing to do with it.

The fact that the same situation occurred 15 years later with a different GM, Coach and Players tells you it was Reinsdorf all along.

It's also ironic that Pax had a front row seat to all of this and then let the exact same situation happen again when he was at the helm.

I loved the kids getting interviewed at the United Center who said something like- "Mom and Dad asked us if we wanted Christmas presents under the tree this year or if we wanted to see Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman play.... we chose the Bulls".

Get these people certified ASAP! I recognize they are now in their late 30s, but someone's gotta show them love for that dedication

Its a surprise MJ made it his whole career with the bulls after seeing how early the tension had started with the front office in his second season coming back from injury. 18 million dollars is no small sum of money. I realize he had his family back in Arkansas (Shout out peter Jenkins) to take care of, but there must have been some serious mismanaging of his money going on there.

New paragraph for Trey Burton. I was never over the hills excited when the bears signed him. He was the backup tight end on the eagles who really didnt do much prior to us signing him. How are the bears not doing their due diligence before signing a guy, I would learn everything single thing there is to know about a guy before I commit 10 mill a year to him. Jimmy Grahm is going to be horrible. He hasnt been good since his days with the saints who happened to have a top 5 qb of all time.

Him making less than half of his teammates for most of his career is inexcusable. Plain and simple.

He chose to sign a 7 Year Contract. This was the 7th year. That is how it works. He chose Security over a gamble.

Right, that's fine. But just understand that if that's how you choose to treat the second best player ever to put on a Bulls jersey, you won't be getting a lot of eager free agents.

To be fair, he was unreal with the Saints. That was 10 years ago though

My favorite part was the grown ass man on the opposing team asking MJ for his sweatband after the game.

Pippen is a clown. Did he have the worst agent of all time? He signed that contract way too early and had absolutely no leverage at all. He was literally warned by THE BULLS to not sign that deal. It's annoying af when guys sign these contracts and then get pissed a few years later because they think they deserve more. This is why guys bet on themselves. If you don't decide to bet on yourself and sign a long term contract, then you can't start demanding more once you start killing it on the court. Could the Bulls have renegotiated his contract? Sure. But instead they took advantage of his dumbass and used that extra money to build the greatest team of all time. I'm not faulting the Bulls for that. I get that he wanted to support his family as soon as possible but that's a dumb ass move on his part.

Trey Burton is a lil B word.

He had to ensure long-term security for his family so he signed the deal. The Bulls took advantage of that -- fair enough. But, in turn, he played a large part in making them millions upon millions of dollars and winning them multiple championships. Good franchises reward this kind of behavior.

A contract is a contract. He had multiple people including Reinsdorf himself telling him its a bad deal. I mean come the eff on haha. Don't act like he got robbed by the Bulls. He robbed himself.

Also, when's the last time a player has given money back to the org after underperforming while under big contract...... Cough... cough JASON HEYWARD.

Right, but as I said above, don't underpay your players and say "a contract is a contract" and then expect top free agents to trust you moving forward. Taking the long-term view is important.
