Holy hell has it been fun to watch the Bulls and Hawks every night for the last couple of weeks. Admittedly, I had low expectations for the Bulls and zero expectations for the Hawks so this early
success has been a pleasant surprise. It feels so good to actually have expectations now and even get a little pissed off when the Bulls get sloppy in a quarter or the Hawks blow a 2 goal lead. I have chills thinking about getting back to the UC for a game. Head down absurdly early, stop at Billy Goat for a couple, throw in a dip on the short walk over to the UC, get to your seats just before tip/puck drop with a fresh beer and have an absolute night!
Lauri has played great while on the floor, but this makes me think back to the preseason when he was asking for a max contract. The old regime would probably have given it to him no questions asked, but thats not how King Tut does things! Hopefully we can get him back for a game or 2 before the all star break and he can get back into the swing of things for the home stretch. Bulls up 6 with 1:30 left in game 1 of the 1st round, DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE! I read somewhere that Billy Donovan is in fact a nice Italian man, we welcome another proud Italian American with open arms.
Last year I would get in arguments with my friends who were casual nba fans wanting Zach to be an all star. He was not deserving simple as that. I said he cannot be a number 1 on a successful team. I have been proven wrong (through 30 games) and it’s never easing admitting that. His shooting splits with the volume he shoots it, is incredibly impressive. He still needs to be a better defender but he has made serious strides from last year. Billy D deserves a whole lot of credit for that.
I love seeing that playoff bracket. You gotta imagine a few of those teams are going figure it out but man those 5-8 seeds look completely up for grabs. Very excited for Friday to see how we play against another very good western conference team.
Thoroughly enjoying following the Bulls. There are also signs, at times, that Colby White, Wendell Carter and Patrick Williams show signs of brilliance. Colby can play extremely fast. Williams is the youngest player in the NBA and starting.
This also goes out to all of those people who do say "It's not about the x's and O's, it's about the Jimmy's and the Joe's". Completely false. Good coaches make a huge impact and it generally is immediate as in Billy Donovan.
Lastly, as I have been disgusted with the Cubs moves as well, I heard a new perspective where the Cubs and a couple of other teams were gettign credit for being the only ones approaching COVID impact correctly. Spending money now is not the answer. Huge lost revenues last year will continue into this year. Teams will lose incredible amounts of money. Maybe, the Cubs come out in a position to snag the right free agents when the smoke clears.
White Sox with 9 of the top 100 players in Baseball. Pressure is on.
Coby and Pat, in particular, have so much less pressure on them now, thanks to Donovan and AK. They can act like young players and find themselves. We don't have to rely on them completely because of Young, Temple, and Sato. It really is a nice mix.
Ready to run through a brick wall. It's crazy/unhealthy how much the Bulls success controls my everyday well-being and general mood. Need an easy win tonight and then the Suns on Friday will be a big test. Imagine where we can be if Lauri can come back and contribute in a meaningful way. Playoff fever baby!

WOOO WOOO WOOO. Haha you're so right, getting mad at a single "sloppy" Bulls quarter now is such a privilege.
Futures Voice *Life is good man!*

Hahaha King Tut is Cairo Santos, sir. AK-4-7 is Arturas Karnisovas. But I'm with you nonetheless, brother.

15-16 headed into a marquee Friday match-up is what 2021 dreams are made of.
