As I watched Ben Simmons' confidence fall every time they intentionally fouled him. I foresaw the Sixers needing to get rid of him. I would love to have him on the Bulls where he doesn't have to score. Billy Donovan will fix his psyche and we are ready to roll.
We all love Jason Heyward but batting .115 since his return and refusing to get vaccinated really is the nail in the coffin. I am not sure I have ever seen someone pull a weak groundball more consistently than him. He is a walking double play.
Pulling Javy Baez for stupid baserunning is exactly what Joe Maddon wouldn't do and why Javy would keep doing it. I think David Ross is a very good Manager.

Lastly, when we first met Ben Zobrist and his wife, didn't everyone look at the two of them and think "this is going to go bad"? I did! She never fit the part of the strict Christian wife and mother. I NEVER believed Lester was involved. The other Cub players continued to revere Lester last year and they wouldn't if that had happened. Ben fucked up from the beginning. He chose poorly. It would be awesome to get Zach on that team. However, with the current commits, we know it may be a stretch. I know he is a different position, but Kevin Love??? Khris middleton got added too. I hate that dude. Looks like a Fish but he has shown up these playoffs. Anytime Derrick Rose is brought up from the olympics team I have the image of the entire team on the podium getting their golds and hitting the Shmoney Dance while he stands there not knowing what to do. Similar to his All-Star walk out. Another reason I love the guy. Just wants to hoop man.
Love the prisoner of the moment point. Simmons is still an incredible player and we would not need his offense as much as people think. What he does passing and on the defensive end is incredible. Tough series for him but he is 24 and has already done some very impressive things in his career. A fresh start does wonders and I think this is a real wake up call for him to dedicate himself in the off-season. I do not know what it would take, but definitely something to explore.
As Chicago fans, we should all be convinced we are getting this top 4 pick. It would be really difficult passing up on Cade but its definitely tough seeing how he would fit with this roster. If we got Suggs i would take PTO the rest of the week and go on a Pre 4th of July bender. I need to do more research on Green but based on mocks he looks like the clear pick. See Red
Green would also be a tough fit, and I probably should have highlighted that more in the letter. Cade's shooting alone makes him a surefire type pick, but Suggs is by far the best player for the current roster, if you're looking at it that way.
I'd also consider trading the pick if we got as high as 1 or 2, as crazy as that sounds. We could get a first back later in the round and also a young, cost-controlled player that could contribute now.
Kevin Love has got to have an in because of his history with the team. It's politics. No way he should be on there over LaVine, and Middleton is iffy. Jrue Holiday makes more sense just from a defensive perspective.
Consider me a delusional Bulls fan because I dont want that glorified scrub Ben Simmons anywhere near the United Center, unless he is in an opposing uniform. I will also be the first guy to tell you I dont know shit about basketball. Its almost like he has the yips when it comes to the offensive end, similar to Markelle Fultz a couple years ago. Where do the Cubs go from here? I feel like we were all riding the wave of the Cubs win streak and were viewing them in a different light. It doesn't change the fact that not a single starter has below a 4 ERA. The smart thing to do would be to find some desperate teams looking to make a playoff push and trade a couple of the guys for a haul, but how do you do that if you're battling for the Central. It could be a quick rebuild if they do it correctly, I just hope the right moves are made because this team will go nowhere in the playoffs with the streaky hitting and sub par pitching.
The difference between Fultz and Simmons is that Simmons is a three-time All-Star and a two-time All Defense First Team member. Pretty stark.
He had the yips for a series when he was expected to be the second guy, if not the guy at times. That can be fixed, and his defense and passing skills cannot be taught.
