Mitch isn't the answer but neither is Nagy! You do have to ask the question why every time they have to abandon the gameplan in a game Mitch starts looking like an effective QB???? Please do me a favor and throw the ball downfield every once and a blue moon. I thought Jonathon Vilma said it best, "I would rather see Mitch throw a ball downfield and have it picked than see these little lateral passes". Please Nagy?!?! Send that Mooney kid on a fly pattern several times a game just to show them he is there.

For sure true re: game plan. I thought the play calling was better and I think an improved line will help. Nagy also can't help it if Trubisky is checking everything down.

Was Roquan on the field on Sunday? He was non existent. I think he spent too much time drinking out on the playpen this summer with porn stars, and not enough time preparing for week 1.

Sounds like that's something you may want to be doing yourself

Sprung out of bed this morning to read this Newsletter. 60 degrees, coffee in hand, leaves are turning, lets go!

3 and out to start that game, Jimmy Graham miss-timing his jumps on two crucial plays, Nagy electing to go for it on 4th and 7 instead of kick it or take a delay and punt it, the brutal 3 and out to close out the first half that led to 6 from the lions, Mack getting held on every play, Mooney falling to his knees to catch a Mitch duck over the middle, THROW IT ALL OUT THE WINDOW!

I very well may tweet out "PUT IN FOLES" by half time of next week, but all that matters is the Bears are tied for the best record in all of football, and that last pass to Anthony Miller was the best pass a quarterback has ever thrown. Bring on the Giants next week and lets get to 2-0.

One thing I'll note from watching football Sunday, is it highlights how well the NBA has done in making the playoffs feel legit even with no fans. The clips of sideline reporters on the field with no one in the stands behind them looked ominous, and the obnoxious pumped in crowd noise couldn't change that.

Lastly, I'm not a Nagy hater by any means, but a lot of negativity last season came from him doubling down on questionable decisions he made. Which happened again in yesterday's post game presser, when he defended trying to drive down the field with less than 2 minutes left on the clock in the half, which ultimately led to a touchdown from the Lions. He said he wanted to be aggressive and that is in their DNA, but the way their offense was going, it seemed like an obvious time to bite the bullet and get to the locker room tied up. This post game presser would have been dissected a lot differently by the local media if Swift caught that ball.

Trubisky hasn't earned a buffer. This is a professional organization and he's earned a short leash. No more babying.

I think the NFL is mostly fine without fans but the pumped in crowd noise was insanely obnoxious in the Lions/Bears game. Completely non-stop. I'm hoping each stadium can start getting in a small portion of fans, it makes such a difference. Chiefs/Texans felt completely normal.
