Good Morning Chicago! Hope everyone had a great weekend.
A lot of you missed Friday’s post-Bears game newsletter because of Google, so make sure to read that here: https://sgctc.substack.com/p/still-gotta-come-through-chicago-5f5
Also read the Cubs season-ending newsletter here if you missed it: https://sgctc.substack.com/p/still-gotta-come-through-chicago-c43
These reminders are probably getting pretty annoying, but please drag this newsletter out of the promotions tab on your Gmail and into your primary inbox. And also tell a friend to do the same.
There’s not much new to report out of Chicago on this Monday, besides the fact that one of the three best players in the NBA Finals was on the Chicago Bulls roster — coming off a 24 PPG/ 6 RPG/ 6 APG season — and we traded him for a bag of basketballs. I don’t know what the top five worst moves in franchise history are off the top of my head, but that’s undoubtedly in there.
Especially because Jimmy wanted to stay in Chicago, and wanted to win in Chicago.
I want to keep writing more than one newsletter per week (I wrote four last week), but will have less current events to touch on during them. That means we can experiment with some fun topics on the non-Bears newsletters.
I’m going to try to write about the flurry of trades that the Blackhawks made this week — from what I can tell, it’s no good. As they say, you let a clown run the show and you’ll get a circus.
Comment or reach out if you want me to write about something in particular that’s Chicago sports related. I’ll be doing a deep dive on the Bulls offseason and what their priorities should be soon. I’ll also be writing about the Cubs and Sox offseasons and what they need to do to stay in the playoffs or make the World Series, respectively.
What else do you want to know? The topic can be as obscure as you’d like: Chicago sports history, hypotheticals, favorite moments, or even just the best ways to watch a game. Let me know.
For now, have a great week and send the above newsletters to your friends — let’s keep the momentum going.
STILL GOTTA COME THROUGH CHICAGO!
Need some Dallas Cowboys action, at least pay some respect to Dak. Is the Red Rifle gonna lead us to an NFC East Crown? Even if that Crown resembles a Happy Meal toy?
Breakdown of Stan's time as GM, what he inherited, major moves, etc.
